Sick of Covid? You're not alone. In this new age of Covid, it's hard to come up with romantic date ideas that won't put you and your love in harms way like sitting in a cinema or eating at a crowded restaurant would. So here at Happy Little Vows, we've come up with a few date ideas that are covid-friendly, easy enough to whip together and perfect for your Anniversary too. Enjoy!

1. Drive-In Movie
Due to pesky Covid, many cinemas are still shut. However, a plethora of drive-in movie theaters have dusted themselves off and are thriving. You can buy tickets online, drive in, park and watch without opening a window, which makes the drive-in movie a safe, romantic date option. Make sure you take some snacks and a blanket so you can sit back and take in the latest movies while watching the stars come out with each other in comfort. So, make like Sandy and Danny (without the fight) and drive on down for a romantic night of canoodling in front of the big screen. Just look up the closest drive-in movie theatre to you, get your ticket and you're ready to go!

Things you'll need: Snacks, masks (Amazon), car.
2. Picnic
While it's still just warm enough to enjoy the outdoors, head out for a beautiful picnic date. Drop by the grocery store and pick up some cheese, fruit, bread and anything else you both fancy, then lay out a picnic blanket in a place that helps you relax, like a field, park or even the top of a building. After being cooped up indoors so much, being outside to breathe the fresh air will be a wonderful respite for you both.
Things you'll need: Picnic basket (Amazon), picnic blanket (Amazon), Coravin (Coravin), masks (Amazon), hand sanitizer (Amazon), food - you can even pre-order a cheese and wine basket like this one: California Foods Gift Basket (Amazon).
3. Couple photo shoot
Get dressed up together and do a little DIY photo shoot around the city or country-side. You can set up the self timer and have fun posing or head to Fiverr.com and hire a local photographer to come and snap some socially-distanced photos you'll be able to keep forever.
Things you'll need: Masks (Amazon), Canon Rebel T7 Camera (Amazon), Photographer (Fiverr).
4. Romantic Dinner
Restaurants are starting to open back up with outside seating options or small inside capacity. So, if you've both missed your romantic dinner date nights, why not check out some safe restaurant options around you.
Things you'll need: Masks (Amazon), hand sanitizer (Amazon).
5. Airbnb
Airbnb's are a great way to get away right now. With greater attention to cleaning (and higher fees for it unfortunately), it's now safer to stay. Personally, I still wipe down areas and handles with wipes, just for my peace of mind. But once that's done, it's time to sit back, relax and take in your surroundings.
We recently spent some time at this Joshua Tree Airbnb called The Birds Nest for a romantic getaway from Los Angeles and it was fantastic. Highly recommend!
Things you'll need: Car, masks (Amazon), hand sanitizer (Amazon), Clorox Disinfecting Wipes (Amazon), luggage (Amazon), Coravin (Coravin).
6. Online Cooking Class
Find a recipe you've always wanted to learn to cook, get your ingredients and start learning together. You can find cooking lesson online and learn to cook it at home. MasterClass also has fantastic cooking lessons with Chef greats like Gordon Ramsey, Dominique Ansel and Wolfgang Puck, including mastering Texas-style BBQ with Aaron Franklin.
Things you'll need: MasterClass (MasterClass), pots and pans (Le Creuset), good knives (Amazon), cooking utensils (Le Creuset), Coravin (Coravin).
7. Day Trip
Take a drive for a day trip together to explore a new nearby town, go apple picking, find a cool beach or so much more. If you don't want to travel too far, go to a nearby neighborhood you don't normally frequent and explore what that area has to offer. You may find you come home with a favorite new area you never knew existed. Plus, think of all the fun you'll have driving to your location with the radio up loud and the two of you singing along!
PRO TIP: Go onto Google maps and make a 1hrs drive circumference around where you live. Both put on a blindfold and point to an area. Whomever has the best place to visit wins that location.
Things you'll need: Masks (Amazon), hand sanitizer (Amazon), Hydro Flask (REI), sunglasses (Amazon), Day Backpack (Amazon), car.
8. DIY Wine or Beer Tasting
Buy some bottles, chill what you need, set up some glasses and you're ready for a tasting. Make a list of the wines/beers you're trying and test out your palettes as you sip away and muse at your newfound bottles.
PRO TOP: Use a Coravin wine preservation system so that you can do tastings from multiple bottles without having to open them.
Things you'll need: Coravin (Coravin), Wine Glasses (Amazon), Beer Flight (Amazon).
9. Hike
Being stuck inside all day means most of us are not getting the vitamin-D we need. So make a date of it and get out into the fresh air and nature with your love. Find a hike you think you'll both enjoy, it can be for as long as you want, for a couple of hours or even a couple of days. You'll be able to discover new places together as you explore the outside world.
Things you'll need: Hydro Flask (Amazon), hiking boots (Amazon), backpack (Amazon), masks (Amazon), hand sanitizer (Amazon).
10. Bike Ride
Dust off those bikes that have been moping in the garage or hire a couple of bikes and go out to discover a bike path or part of the city you've always wanted to explore. There's really nothing like playing tourist in your own town from the seat of a bike.
Things you'll need: Bike (Amazon), water bottle (Amazon), helmet (Amazon), masks (Amazon), hand sanitizer (Amazon).
Note: Whilst these date options are fun and romantic, we recommend you follow all CDC guidelines by wearing your mask and regularly sanitizing your hands whilst on date activities to be safe.
