As much as I love to surprise someone with gifting them a cool gadget or trip, I also love to gift people with something that will empower them. Inspiring them to create, to reset, to grow and to further their dreams.
What are the best non-traditional gift ideas?
The best non-traditional gift ideas can compartmentalized into six categories; Self Empowerment Books, Stocks, Tools for Trade, Roth IRA Contributions, Courses/Further Education and Relaxation/Pamper gifts. Think of gift ideas that can improve the life of the receiver and empower them to become what they're striving for. Also gifts that will elevate where they're already heading or help them get a jump start. As we all know, a little support can go a long way.

Stocks are a great gift idea to give. As they hold on to your gift it will grow though years of compound interest, which is why it makes a great idea for your spouse.
Relaxation and pampering gifts will ease their mind and help get them back to their creative selves. These types of gifts are usually the last things we give to ourselves, which makes them a great gift to give others. So go ahead, spoil them!
If your significant other is trying their hardest to reach millionaire status by retirement, why not give them a hand. Give them some cash to add to their Roth IRA portfolio to help them get there. Just think after years of compound interest, your contribution will really be so much more than you originally gifted in the end.
Helping to further your spouse's education is a gift that will help support them long into the future, wether it's a writing course, cooking, finance, coding course or an actual certificate/degree. Getting them started or buying a whole course, you'll be helping them take that one step closer to their dream.
Everyone needs tools to make their dream happen. Gifting the gift of these tools can be just the support they need to take that first step or keep going on their dreams. Like a computer, musical instrument, equipment or even literal tools, these gifts are sure to be used a lot. One of my favorite gifts from last year was a Novel Writing software I use almost on a daily basis and I'm reminded of the support from my other half every time I use it.
